Organisational Struture and Expertise

The Development Strategy Institute has a Scientific Council and 11 subordinate departments, namely: General Department, Department for International Studies, Department for Productive Industries Development; Department for Services Industries Development; Department for Human Resources Development and Social Affairs; Department for Regional Development; Department for Infrastructure Development; Department for Resources and International Relations; Centre for Development Consultancy and Training; Administration Office, and Southern Economic Research Centre.
At present, the Institute is composed of three associate professors, nine Ph.D holders, 30 master's degree holders and 73 bachelor's degree holders.
Scientific Council
The Scientific Council serves as an advisory body assisting the Institute's President in the development of scientific programmes, organisation of scientific research work, and evaluation of scientific research outputs of the Institute.
General Department
-Â Â Â Â Being the focal point for formulating projects on national socio-economic development strategies;
-Â Â Â Â Producing macro-economic forecasts; and forecasts on social, scientific-technological and policy changes affecting socio-economic development strategies and master plan;
-Â Â Â Â Being the focal point for research in and formulation of 5-year and annual development plans.
Department for International Studies
-Â Â Â Â Producing forecasts on world economic, financial, technological and environmental changes, and international linkages in service of the Institute's research in national socio-economic development strategies and master plans;

Department for Productive Industries Development
-Â Â Â Â Conducting research in and formulation of development strategies and master plans for material production industries at national, regional and territorial area levels;
-Â Â Â Â Conducting research in development strategies and master plans for seas and islands, and external economic cooperation in the area of seas and islands;

Department for Service Industries Development
-Â Â Â Â Conducting research in and formulation of development strategies and master plans for the service industries for the whole country and specific territorial areas;

Department for Human Resources Development and Social Affairs
-Â Â Â Â Conducting research in and formulation of the strategies for human being and race development on nation-wide and regional/territorial area scales;
-Â Â Â Â Conducting researching in the strategies and master plans for human resource development on nation-wide and regional/territorial area scales;
-Â Â Â Â Conducting research in social development on nation-wide and regional/territorial area scales;
-Â Â Â Â Producing forecasts for the development of Vietnamese human being and that of human resources on nation-wide and regional/territorial area scales.
Department for Regional Development
-Â Â Â Â Conducting research in and formulation of socio-economic development strategies and master plans for regions and territorial areas ;
-Â Â Â Â To be the focal point for conducting research in the master plans for land use and environmental protection;
-Â Â Â Â To be the focal point for formulating 5-year and annual regional/territorial area development plans.
Department for Infrastructure Development
-Â Â Â Â Conducting research in and formulation of national and regional/territorial area infrastructure development strategies and master plans;
-Â Â Â Â Taking the lead in conducting research in urban infrastructure development;
Department for Resources and International Relations
-Â Â Â Â Establishing the information system in service of research in socio-economic development strategies and master plans and economic forecasting;
-Â Â Â Â Developing plan and being the focal point for executing the international relations functions of the Institute in service of research in development strategising and planning;
-Â Â Â Â Managing and operating the website of the Institute.
Administration Office Â
-Â Â Â Â Consolidating, developing the Institute's work and academic management programmes and plans, and supervising and speeding up their implementation; preparing reports on the implementation of the Institute's political tasks/assignments for submission to the superior levels; and conducting the work of mapping;
-Â Â Â Â Being responsible for the Institute's administrative and administering work, library-documentation, archives, and protocol affairs.
-Â Â Â Â Being responsible for organisation and personnel affairs;
-Â Â Â Â Being responsible for management of the Institute's physical facilities and financial resource;
-Â Â Â Â Being the focal point for carrying out external relations of the Institute.
Centre for Training and Development Consultancy
-Â Â Â Â Organising the implementation of consultancy activities in the area of socio-economic development strategy and master plan research (both domestically and internationally).
-Â Â Â Â Organising the implementation of PhD degree training in accordance with provisions of law; organising the provision of professional capacity improvement in socio-economic development master planning for various sectors and localities.
Centre for Southern Economic Research        Â
-Â Â Â Â Monitoring and following up the implementation of socio-economic development master plans for Southern provinces;
-Â Â Â Â Being the focal point for organisation of research in and making proposals on regional socio-economic development master plans for the Southern region;
-Â Â Â Â Establishing a system of resource/information on the Southern region in service of socio-economic development strategising and master planning research;
-Â Â Â Â Being the focal point for organising professional training workshops on master planning for Southern provinces;
- Organising consultancy activities in the are of development strategising and master planning for Southern provinces and sectors.
