In the message of the Prime Minister at the beginning of 2014, the issue of institutional reform which had been emphasized at different times in the last 3 decades was stressed urgently.

Policymakers agree that major changes are in order if Vietnam is to become an industrialized country by 2035.

On 16 January 2015, Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and World Bank Vietnam organized a workshop to consult Vietnamese and International experts on the topic of "Building the Modern Institutions” – one theme in "Vietnam 2035 Report”. The workshop was held in Development Strategy Institute office in Hanoi.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stressed that the improvement of business environment is "vital”; non-performing heads of agencies should "be asked to take other jobs”.

New World Bank Report, Taking Stock, Shows Increase in Vietnamese Economic Growth

The Prime Minister has announced the establishment of Steering Committee for the Vietnam 2035 Report led by the Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam. The Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh is the Vice Chairman.

Robust innovation will help the country to develop faster, more sustainably and to catch up with other countries in the region and internationally.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung delivered the Report on socio-economic development in 2014 and major tasks for 2015 at the 8th working session of the 13th National Assembly on October 20. The following is the full translation of the report for reference.
